Thank you Kevin and Margaret for all your efforts in making our first
trip to New Zealand a truly memorable one.
We appreciated your accommodation of our last-minute request to visit
a particular site on the first day of our 7-day tour and were impressed
with the efficiency with which this was handled. We took a tour of the
south half of the South Island because we wanted to experience a combination
of your country's natural and cultural environments and in that we were
not disappointed. The grandeur of your country's landscape is enchanting.
Watching the changing moods of Mount Cook during sunset was very moving.
Also, we appreciated seeing sites connected with the Lord of the Rings
movies. Christchurch and Dunedin provided excellent dining and cultural
experiences. We were particularly impressed with the Christchurch art
gallery.
Perhaps our most endearing experiences involved penguins. Viewing yellow-eyed
penguins in their natural habitat along the wild east coast was very exciting.
So, too, was listening to blue penguins croon to their chicks in pitch
darkness on the Otago peninsula. These experiences are indelibly etched
in our minds. They would not have been possible without the special attention
provided by you, Kevin, and for that we thank you.
When we experienced some difficulties with our health, this was dealt
with in an expeditious manner with little disruption to our itinerary.
In general we appreciated the unhurried way in which our tour was conducted.
Catering to the special needs and interests of clients seems to us to
be a particular strength of your company.
Without hesitation we recommend your company to anyone wishing a unique
experience of New Zealand's South Island. No doubt we will be back for
another tour. Soon, hopefully.

Dear Kevin & Margaret
Though we are back into normal routine, we can't help but reflect daily
on the wonderful time we had on our tour and the friendship we developed
with the two of you. Our home is open to you any time you can come and
visit
we'll show you what 'southern hospitality' is (Tennessee style)
As we said so many times, ours was truly the trip of a lifetime. The
tour was the most magical in the most majestic place we've ever seen.
We have used every known adjective to describe the scenery and the places
we went with you, Kevin, but can say it best by telling everyone we talk
to 'you have to see it for yourselves!'
We can't imagine having had a better time. Our decision to tour the
South Island with you as our guide was absolutely the right one for us.
Knowing that you took the time to find out what we were especially interested
in and ensuring that those needs were met meant so much to us. For nine
days we saw and experienced the most incredible rain forests, beautiful
waterfalls, gorgeous lakes and streams and splendid plains, and along
the way took the time to do all the 'tourist' things as well.
Getting this kind of personal attention is exactly how it is supposed
to be. You certainly thought of everything.

My family is still reeling from the wonderful trip that we had with
you. You have been a great guide in showing us the many wonderful spots
in New Zealand. You had managed to bring out the nature lovers in us.
We still fondly remember the picnics that we had along the coastal beaches,
the undescribable feeling en route to Milford Sound and especially the
unexpected snow experience at Lake Tekapo.
Thank you for being very patient in imparting your endless knowledge on
the trees, flowers, glaciers, mountains, lakes and everything else that
we set our eyes upon during our trip to New Zealand. Thank you also for
bringing us to all the picturesque places that we could only have imagined
being in in our dreams.
It was a dream trip come true and no amount of thanks would be enough
for the warm hospitality and companionship that you have showed my family.
It sure was hard to part especially for my youngest brother who cried
upon seeing you leave on that last day after enjoying your company for
two weeks.
One thing i have learnt from this trip is that the real thing is way better
than what you see in books. Being immersed in the New Zealand environment
was purely a magical experience that no one book could have readied us
for. Thank you so much again for everything and hopefully we will keep
in touch and meet again in the near future.
Best Regards,
Sunarti (Sue)

Mr. Kevin Dash,
I have at last settle down to my normal working life although less normal.
The memory of your wonderful country makes me wanting to visit again.
Hopefully in the near future maybe in spring or summer. My family sends
their fondest regards to you and family.
We enjoyed your warmth companion throughout our stay in NZ. We treasure
your inparting your vast knowledge to us of your country, the mountains,
glaciers, fauna and coastline. You brought us to the ends of mountains,
beaches and lakes which we have not seen in any brochures. Its worth every
shot of the 19 rolls all printed and treasured in 2 albums.
I thank you very much for your warmth hospitality, companionship, your
patience and professional guidance. You are a fine example of a Kiwi ambassador.
I beg your pardon if we are a less favourable guests cos we have yet to
learn and know your country and culture.
My only regrets is we do not have enough time to sit and talk of photography
and I did not part with you with appreciation in kinds.
Once again, thank you very much.
Hamis Samsuri.

Remember me? You gave me an individual tour from The Golden Coast bed
and breakfast on March 3rd.2004. I just want to thank you for a wonderful
day. My photos are all good, but not as good as the professional I was
with that day! What a superb day, made so interesting by your detailed
knowledge of the area. I have just looked at your website, which in my
opinion is better than a lot of the big company sites. It is very informative
and superbly set out with the information and the photography. It will
be recommended to any one that I know that is going to New Zealand. I
hope the preparation for your trip to Alaska is now complete and I am
sure that the customers will have a superb trip.

We want to thank you and Kevin for making our holiday filled with memories
you couldn't start to imagine.
Thank you both so very much. Anyone I can recommend to you I will without
a doubt.
Thanks again..

As we planned our first trip to New Zealand, we were seeking information
on photographic opportunities that would capture the beauty of the New
Zealand landscape. During our research we discovered Kevin and Margaret
and their Offbeat Tours website.Kevin promised a customized personal tour
of the South Island along with a unique environmental experience. We signed
up for a four day tour with Kevin, and he greatly exceeded our expectations
and provided a well narrated tour of the West Coast and Queenstown. More
importantly, he took us to a seemingly infinite selection of "Kodak"
moments. Our only regret is that we didn't choose Kevin's seven day tour
package.

Thank you for the wonderful tour of Punakaiki on Tuesday morning. We
loved the beautiful scenery and the interpretation really added to the
whole experience. Next time we are on the Coast we will contact you for
a full day tour or maybe even 2 or 3 days. Once again thank you very much
